Burning Man 2012

01 Mar

It is that time of the year again… burning man tickets went on sale and camp applications have been sent it. This is the point of no return where we commit ourselves to the grand project and show our true colors.

This year I will be once again be an active organizer for CiB Camp and will try my hand at a few major projects. This year we face a challenge of a growing membership and having to rebuild or update lots of camp infrastructure. I’m also looking to bring a few of my own projects to the Playa, including fire art.

So without further hangups, here are the Projects I have scheduled to complete for Burning Man 2012

  • 30/25 ft steel dome
  • Portable silks rig, 30ft high
  • Camp Shade Structure
  • Desert Evap System
  • a prototype trike for the desert
  • brewing 40 gal of mead for our bar
  • 2nd prototype trike
  • a CiB sign back-lit with fire
  • the dying breed fire-sculpture

Some of these projects depend of camp funding and participation, some of them are my own.

Good day to you and Remember Tunnel 17!

    Wow.

I, for one, will be excited to see the trike — the last time I rode a bicycle I sprained my ankle, so I try to avoid them. >_> <_< If there's any way I can help out with it, let me know.

Thats why I’m making a trike… I crashed my bike during an altered states tour and had to carry it back limping… until a tropical island gave me a lift. They had awesome hammocks :)

      *grins* Nice.

Have you decided on upright vs. recumbent? If you want to try out a kickass recumbent, I have this one: http://www.greenspeed.com.au/gt3.html

It needs a tune-up, but if you want to play around with it, you’re more than welcome.

I would love to try it :) i’m building something very similar but with a much larger rear wheel… i’m also working on getting a shaft drive for mine (proving to be hard to source parts)
